Dear Friends,

As many are aware, the Board of Trustees has offered a contract to an Asssistant Rabbi.   I will keep the congregation updated as we move forward.

The following are the highlights from the last Board of Trustees meeting.

Budget and Finance: We are continuing our search for a different investment group to help with managing the Synagogue’s funds. We hope to have a recommendation forwarded to the Board by the July meeting.

Bingo: The Board continues to seek new volunteers from our membership to help with Bingo. We currently need additional help on the fourth Monday of the month from 8:00pm to closing. If you have never worked Bingo please consider helping.

Membership: Please welcome the newest members of the Beth Sholom family. They are Jennifer & Hans Mykytyn of New Market, MD, and Barry Brown & Susan April of Myersville, MD.

Volunteer: Cindi Diamondstone reported that the work of the volunteer committee has been completed. A special thank you is due Sharon Botkin, Andy Carpel, Stacee Springer, and Joanna Pierson for helping.

Gala Committee: The Awards Gala is scheduled for November 1, 2003. Please contact the Shul office if you would like to help.

Communication: Rabbi Kosman was a featured writer about religion in Frederick in the Frederick City/County Guide.

New Business: The Board thanks Monda Sagalkin for initiating a new group to help with greeting and ushering at regular Shabbos services. If this is something that you would like to help with, please contact her.

Volunteer of the MonthMorrie Kelsey. A past president, Morrie continues to work very hard for Beth Sholom. He remains dedicated in assisting with the Religious Affairs Committee. He has traditionally led the very challenging Mussaf services for both Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  He has been a tireless Bingo worker, serves on the Nominating committee, the Budget and Finance committee, and the Long Range Planning committee. Please join me in thanking Morrie for his continued efforts on Beth Sholom’s behalf.

Next Meeting – July 17, 2003, 7:30pm at the Community Center.
