About Us

Beth Sholom Congregation has served the Frederick County Jewish Community since 1917. Opportunities abound for members of all ages and levels of Jewish observance to learn, pray, serve, and celebrate.

We strive to assure Jewish continuity through knowledge and awareness, and to create a community which provides a rich, non-judgmental culture of love and concern for every person, regardless of background or affiliation.

Beth Sholom provides a wide variety of educational opportunities for children and adults throughout the year. Our Early Childhood Center and Religious School promote student understanding of the Jewish way of life, including its ethics, history, holidays and celebrations. Kid-ish Kids, a Shabbat morning program for young children; Teen Club, an enrichment program for older youth; and a summer day camp for youngsters of all ages round out our youth program.

A weekly seniors program and a variety of social, educational and mind-expanding opportunities including lectures, cultural events, and adult education classes are offered on a regular basis.

We offer weekday minyonim on Thursday and Sunday mornings, in addition to Shabbat, High Holy Day and Festival Services. Our Friday night service is followed by an Oneg Shabbat, and Shabbat morning services are followed by a Kiddush Luncheon.
