YEARLY THEME:  All About Me

Prayer:  Students will be able to recite the Shema, Modeh Ani, Mah Tovu and Adon Olam

Hebrew:  Students will be able to recognize and name the Hebrew letters, identify, comprehend and recite Hebrew body-part words.

Torah:  Students will be able to identify and paraphrase the story of Creation, and will be exposed to other stories from the Book of Genesis.

Mitzvot:  Students will be able to identify mitzvoth they can do at home.

Israel:  Students will be able to identify the flag of the State of Israel, and will be able to identify that Israel is where Jewish people live, and that it has a special place in the hearts and minds of Jewish people the world over.

Holidays:  Students will recognize that Shabbat begins at sundown on Friday night and lasts until Saturday after sundown.  Students will understand that it is customary at Friday night dinners to light Shabbat candles, to recite Kiddush over juice and wine, and to recite Hamotzi.
