Sisterhood

Beth Sholom Sisterhood, organized in 1960, is the strong right arm of the synagogue.

Karen Ashwal and Heather Feit get a crochet lesson.The organization provides an opportunity for women to network and to support the work of the synagogue. At the same time, Sisterhood works closely with the National Council of Jewish Women, sponsoring joint programs throughout the year.

What does Sisterhood do for Beth Sholom?

  • Maintain the gift shop at the Community Center
  • Staff and maintain the food service during bingo evenings
  • Purchase and present a personalized Siddur to each Bar and Bat Mitzvah
  • Annual Book and Gift Fair
  • Organize holiday parties and model seders for the children of our congregation
  • Monetary support to nursery and religious school teachers
  • Provide kosher catering for congregational and members' simchas, Friday evening Onegs, and Saturday morning Kiddush luncheons
