Welcome to Beth Sholom

Beth Sholom, a post-denominational congregation, has served the Frederick County Jewish Community since 1917. We welcome all to join our "family" as we focus on inclusiveness, promoting the interests of Judaism in general, the welfare of the people and community understanding.

Opportunities abound for members of all ages and levels of Jewish observance to learn, pray, serve and celebrate. We strive to ensure Jewish continuity through knowledge and awareness, and to create a community which provides a rich, nonjudgmental culture of love and concern for every person regardless of background or affiliation.

We invite you to experience our dynamic congregation through worship and social, educational and outreach activities.

Beth Sholom has concluded its search for a rabbi. The Board of Trustees and the congregation approved the hiring of Rabbi Murray Singerman, who will begin as senior rabbi February 1. Plan to join us Feb. 12 and 13—Rabbi Singerman's innaugural Shabbat—for a "Shabbat of New Beginnings." Activities will include spirited services led by Rabbi Singerman and congregants—men, women and religious school students; traditional Shabbat meals; programs and classes for children and adults; and sports and games. We look forward to sharing this special weekend with you.
