Family Services
Tot Shabbat
Families with children ages 2-6 are encouraged to participate in this lively 45-minute service, filled with songs, stories and prayers tailored for our younger children, followed by a light Oneg. Join us on the third Friday night of each month at 6 p.m. during the school year, unless otherwise noted in the events calendar.
Student-led services
Students enrolled in our Religious School participate in leading services one Friday night each month when school is in session, unless otherwise noted in the events calendar.
Bar and Bat Mitzvah-aged Students
In preparation for Bar or Bat Mitzvah, students in grades 6-7 participate in leading the services Friday evening and Saturday morning. Students work individually with Cantor Hersh for six to nine months prior to their Bar or Bat Mitzvah, studying the prayers and Haftorah, learning to read Torah, and preparing a D’var Torah (short talk based on the week's Torah portion). Students are encouraged to participate in as much of the service as they are comfortable.
