Safe Spaces
Below is the link to Beth Sholom's Policy, adopted in 2025, entitled "Safe Spaces: A Policy for Living Our Values in Sacred Community." This policy addresses how Beth Sholom will maintain a culture of safety and respect within our congregational sacred space. It includes values-based Interaction Guidelines in which we strive to hold ourselves to the highest standards of personal integrity, social responsibility, and human decency, and a Code of Conduct that describes shared norms around interactions, encouraging behaviors that support consent, respect and safety in order to sustain a positive, healthy, welcoming and sacred synagogue environment. The Policy defines and describes certain prohibited conduct and provides a mechanism for reporting concerns and allegations of Policy violations and other misconduct.
In accordance with Beth Sholom's Bylaws, as a condition of membership, all members of Beth Sholom are expected to adhere to the provisions of this Policy. The initial joining of the Congregation and each yearly renewal of membership constitutes the member’s implied commitment to continued adherence to the Policy.
